CBS New York recently reported on mental health for college students and how to help college students who may be having a hard time.
According to the latest Healthy Minds survey, 44% of US college students reported symptoms of depression, 37% experienced anxiety, and 15% said they have seriously considered suicide. These are the highest rates in the survey’s 15-year history.
But, on a positive note, the survey also found that students are getting more help than in the past.
Clinical and family psychologist, Dr. Jennifer Hartstein of Hartstein Psychologist Services, joins CBS New York to discuss the red and yellow flags and dos and don’ts for parents of these college students and how they may can help.
